There is a strong need for the development of a reliable quality measurement system in sugarcane industry as the quality of sugar cane varies significantly across the field. The objective of this project is to evaluate the use of NIR sensor, microwave sensor, or refractometer for in-field quality measurements. The technology developed in this project has the potential to offer major value-adding opportunities for the sugar industry in Australia.
